Travel win for IM Marsh students

Monday 03-11-2014 - 11:43

In September LJMU piloted a £125 travel subsidy to support all first year students living in city centre Halls of Residence and studying at IM Marsh; they also provided an allocation of on-site parking as a way of supporting students travelling to the campus.

In response to your feedback LJMU are now able to extend the offer to all first, second and third year undergraduate students travelling to IM Marsh for any programme of study.  There are around 850 travel awards still available and they will be offered on a first come, first served basis – applications will close on 30th January 2015.

To apply for this award, you must purchase a valid monthly, term-time or yearly travel pass and email marshtravel@ljmu.ac.uk with the following:

  • Name
  • Student ID number (6 digit number)
  • Course title
  • Year of Study
  • Image of your travel pass

Please note the deadline to apply for this award is the end of January 2015. This travel award is not available to any first year students who have already claimed their £125 subsidy this year.

The extension to the travel support is for this year only and if the concession is extended into the 2015/16 academic year, it will only apply to first year students living in city centre Halls of Residence and studying at IM Marsh.  We recommend that you take this into account when making accommodation choices when you move into Level 5 and 6.

This offer has been developed in partnership with LJMU and we work closely with the University to ensure that student concerns are addressed in the most effective way possible.

Issues around the cost and convenience of student travel across Liverpool is a key priority for LiverpoolSU, and together with the University, we are working with all of the public transport providers in the city to get a better deal for students.

Please don’t miss the opportunity to claim your travel subsidy – it’s there for you.
