Teamwork truly makes the dreamwork, and is vital when running as a Student Officer. Our recently elected President Marie, VP Community and Wellbeing Gaby, VP Education Shaquita and VP Activities Clodagh recently went on a residential trip to Chester to learn about themselves, learn about one another and build a strong bond between them.

They spent three days working extensively with trainers that brought out their personalities, strengths and weaknesses - and how to overcome them. Team building activities such as 'Fort Boyard' physical games as well getting stuck in to a breakout room took place, and they had so much fun.

Being a Student Officer

Once the team building was firmly underway, it was time to focus on their values, core goals as a team and missions they could share as Officers and work on together. They created their very own team mission, vision and values for their year in office. They proved that they are very in sync with one another and hope to have a strong year ahead of them.

Finally, they also learned what it's really like to be a Student Officer and Trustee member, as well as what it takes to be democratic leaders. They gained vital skills to take away with them about their roles.

All in all, they gained tons of experience and learned so much about themselves. They're set to be a truly awesome foursome who are dedicated to focussing on providing the best experience for LJMU students. Watch this space!
