Hello from your Student Officer team! We have exciting news…
As of today, which happens to be A-Level Results Day (hello new students!) our name is officially changing from Liverpool Students’ Union to Liverpool John Moores University Students’ Union – or JMSU for short.
The reason we’ve changed our name is so that we can be as clear as possible about who we are and what we’re here to do - and that’s being here for LJMU students.
We’re here to help you make change and give you amazing events, student groups, activities and opportunities to experience whilst you’re at Uni. We want our name to reflect the fact that the moment you become an LJMU student, you become our members too.
To kick start this change, we are planning an amazing year of celebrating diversity (including Black History Month, International Women’s Day and LGBT+ Month), finding new ways to focus on your mental health and wellbeing, holding more amazing social events in new Liverpool venues, giving you more ways to save money and offering you loads of new ways to gain experience, represent students and more.
All of this starts now! Here is our full line-up of Freshers’ events and what’s on for your first semester – whether you’re brand new to Liverpool or returning for another year.
We can’t wait to meet you, and as ever, we would love to hear from you and get any feedback.
