Rate Your Landlord Awards - a big success
We held our annual Rate Your Landlord Awards evening on the 16th May 2014 at the Radison Blu Hotel, Liverpool.
The Awards were attended by a diverse selection of individuals and representatives from Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Student Homes, accommodation providers and students' unions. Endsleigh, Rate Your Landlord sponsors, were also in attendance, presenting the award for 'Best Landlord'.
The evening got off to a great start, by a performance by Liverpool Ukelele band, Ukebox, who wooed attendees with renditions of hit songs by Rihanna and Beyonce.
The Awards evening kicked off with a speech from LiverpoolSU Vice President Community Engagement, Dan Cole, who spoke about the successes of this years survey and the importance of improving accommodation for students:
"This has been the 4th year that we’ve have been running the survey and year on year the survey has been improving. Last year Curtis led the community department to achieve a fantastic response rate, with over 2000 individual students completing the survey.
"Coming into the role last year, I wanted to take RYL to the next level and set ourselves an ambitious target of gaining 3000 responses, and I’m proud to say this year’s response rate was an amazing 3267!"
He went on to say that " the main purpose [of the Rate Your Landlord Survey] is to ensure accommodation standards for students across Liverpool continues to improve year on year.This is why last year we made a particular effort to visit providers to discuss their individual feedback face to face."
