The past year as your VP Activities has been up and down to say the least, but equally so incredibly rewarding. The lack of face-to-face activity is not what any of us wanted nor expected, however, I am so incredibly proud of the resilience shown and effort made by each and every sport and society member & volunteer to continue their activities online.

In September, we made the best of a bad situation with the ‘Together at Home Challenges’ in an effort to motivate our students to stay active and to reintroduce competition and sportsmanship virtually. This was a huge success and really allowed our students to get involved virtually!

In November, we took part in Movember, encouraging all of our sports & societies to get involved. TeamLJMU really came together and were able to raise a huge £5,486 for charity, absolutely smashing our initial £1,000 target!

From there, we really got into our virtual groove and it’s now time to celebrate the amazing online activities and the students who have dedicated their time to hosting events, running km for charity, championing campaigns and so much more! I want to also say a huge thank you to all the sport and societies I have worked with this year as they’ve been brilliant in such a tricky year.

So, nominate people, sports, societies, volunteers and campaigns that have excelled this year and let’s recognise all the successes that have shined through this year!

Emily Roxbee Cox, your VP Activities.
