On 1st November it was World Vegan Day and the society celebrated by taking a trip to Down The Hatch. I was lucky enough to be able to go along with them.
Down the Hatch is a great place for vegan and vegetarian Junk Food. We were lucky enough to get a deal with a drink, burger and fries! I had never been before so this was a great experience for me and great to have such guidance from the society. The society welcomes all members whether a vegan or someone who wants to learn more about being a veggie or just wants to explore new food.
The menu has a vast choice proving that vegans don't just eat lettuce leaves. I opted for the Taj Mahal burger which was packed full of flavour. A popular choice around the table was The Rude Boy so if you are spoilt for choice I would recommend this one.

Megan (VP Community Engagement) is still a member of this society and she highly recommends. She took a big jump and went from being a Pescatarian to a Vegan and has since been a vegan for 6 years.
This society was so lovely and welcoming and everyone was great to chat to. They made me feel so welcome.
Look out for when they next meet and if they sound like the society for you give them a message on facebook (LJMU Vegetarian & Vegan Society) or follow their social media to find out more.
