My first stop of 2020 for Mollie's Mission was Heels Society.
This society was brand new for the new academic year and has already made so many people smile
Although I have danced before I was very new to Heels dancing, but Shea the lovely instructor with tones of experience of teaching and working made everyone feel relaxed and comfortable and sassy! And at only £2 a class for members of the Society this is one of the cheapest Heels classes in Liverpool!
After an intense warm up (trust me you need it) Shea took us through the very basics of finding our balance in heels, its a lot more difficult than you think, and walking - again, not as easy as it looks. Once we had found our sas and attitude we began to learn the routine - check out the full routine here - https://www.instagram.com/p/B7lBbzWAT2U/
There were no rights or wrongs in this class which was great as it allowed everyone to express themselves and add their own flare to the dance. Shea teaches a Jazz/Commercial style of dance and Katie teaches a more Jazz/Contempary style so make sure you check out both teachers!
After we had perfected the routine we finished with a very relaxing cool down where Shea gave us time to reflect on our day and our time within class. This was a great stress buster and a great workout. This is an non competitive dance class where beginners are welcomed and encouraged!
They have recently moved to a new home in the City Centre so now train on a Monday 7-8:30pm in the John Foster Activities Space with the hope of adding another location, date and time in the near future too.
If you have any questions head over the the Refreshers' Fair where Katie and Shea will be able to answer any questions you have or check out their Instagram to see some of the classes and routines.
