LJMU begins exciting development to transform Liverpool Students' Union and ensure we are better placed for students around campus

Refurbishment work is due to begin on Monday 10th February in the basement of John Foster Building in preparation for the relocation of LiverpoolSU as they become better placed for students to access their services and opportunities across the campus.

Developments taking place over the next few months will see the creation of a number of dedicated LiverpoolSU spaces in the following areas to enhance their presence and increase student accessibility to advice, support, volunteering opportunities, clubs, societies and lots more!

  • John Foster Building - the basement area of the building will become LiverpoolSU’s main office space following their relocation from the Haigh Building. A large area on the ground floor will also become dedicated LiverpoolSU space along with an activities area.
  • Redmonds Building social space
  • Byrom Street main entrance
  • Tithebarn Street café area
  • IM Marsh Meeting Place

Curtis Reid, President at LiverpoolSU said, "We are all very excited that the development work has now begun at the John Foster Building and look forward to the opening of our new spaces around campus in the coming months. Our relocation will mean we are better placed to listen to students and that students can access the opportunities we provide much more easily."

Refurbishment works to John Foster Building basement are expected to take eight weeks, during which time the basement areas will be closed.  Alternative showers and lockers are available in the lower ground floor of the Redmonds Building with cycle parking by the main entrance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the development.

LiverpoolSU will continue to operate as normal from the Haigh Building until further notice.
