RETURNING YOUR LJMU LIBRARY BOOKS BY POST

All library loans have been extended indefinitely. If you are returning to the university in the autumn, please keep all your books and DVDs to return to the libraries when you come back to the university campus.

If you are a UK-based student or member of staff not returning to the university in 2020, you can now use LJMU's tracked postal return service to return library books and DVDs. This service is funded by the University and you will not have to pay the postage. The Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and international postage are unfortunately not included.

Please note that this is currently the only way to return books to the libraries.

How to use the Collect+ free returns service

Click the Collect+ link and enter your email address.

Collect+ will email you with further instructions of how to return your parcel. They will provide a returns label to print out or a QR code to take to your nearest return point. The QR option will enable you to print a label at a drop off point if you do not have access to a printer at home.

Please securely wrap your book(s), attach the returns label if you have printed it, and take the parcel to one of the 7,500 drop-off locations. Please keep your proof of posting receipt until Collect+ have acknowledged receipt of your items.

Here is some information to help you pack your parcel(s):

Parcels can weigh up to 10kgs per parcel and you can send multiple parcels. Each parcel will need its own returns label

Maximum dimension: 60cm x 50cm x 50cm

Please pack items securely

LJMU Library Services appreciates that you may not have scales to guide you in packing your books. As a rough guide, a pile of 7 paperback and hardback books weighs around 5kg. So depending on size and the packing materials you have available you may be able to fit up to 10 books in a single parcel.
