Yesterday saw us celebrate some true shining stars – our societies and volunteers who have a hugely positive impact on our student community.

We had the pleasure of hosting our Society and Volunteering Awards here at the Student Life Building, and it was the perfect occasion to celebrate a successful year for our societies and volunteering groups who have expanded by a whopping 27 new society groups in the last year alone.  

We are excited to announce the 2022 awards winners:

Volunteers:

  • Organisation of the Year Award: The Brain Charity
  • Most Committed Volunteer Award: Emma Wood
  • Volunteer of the Year Award: Paul Gilhooley

Societies:

  • Best New Society Award: Art
  • Society Event of the Year Award: Conservation’s Beach Clean Up
  • Special Recognition Award: Khayyam Butt, ISOC
  • Society Member of the Year Award: Abi Byrne, Psychology
  • Best Creative and Performance Society Award: Musicians and Singers
  • Best Cultural and Faith Society Award: ISOC
  • Best Community and Interests Society Award: Table Top Gaming
  • Best Academic Society Award: Psychology
  • Members Choice Award: Mental Health
  • VP Activities Award: Harry Robinson
  • Society of the Year Award: Christian Union

We’d like to congratulate all winners and runners up and thank Unite Students for sponsoring the event.
