Dear, [NAME OF MP]

Re: Tuition fees, University and Student Support

I hope this email finds you safe and well in these current times.

I am writing to you regarding tuition fees and my concerns as a student.

As students, we are being forgotten about.

U.K. students have been paying £9,250 a year during a pandemic, and we have received significant changes to both academic delivery and academic support.

Whilst A-level and GCSE students continue to receive ongoing support through mitigations, university students are left with no form of clear government support. Decisions are not being made early enough for universities to prepare in a timely fashion and engage with students in a meaningful way.

Therefore, we are left with a lack of clarity and certainty. Students are currently obliged to pay tuition fees, as well as rent for accommodation that we cannot travel to and are being asked to not reside together with significant restrictions on the University campus and learning experience.

In light of this, I ask that you urge the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson MP and the Minister of State for Universities, Michelle Donelan MP, to ensure that students are listened to and given the choice to have reduced tuition fees, tuition fee compensation or other financial packages to support them through this pandemic.

I ask that you consider echoing my concerns to the government to support students and universities during these difficult times.

I also ask that you stand side by side with students, especially during these unprecedented times.

I look forward to hearing from you at the earliest.

Yours sincerely,

[YOUR FULL NAME]
