Susan Cotton Travel Awards 2014
The Susan Cotton Travel Awards for 2014 is open to all level 2 and post-graduate students in Liverpool School of Art and Design. The awards consist of 3 x European Awards of £1,400 and 2 x International Awards of £2,200.
These awards are intended to help students undertake significant domestic or international travel in support of their work and personal development. The emphasis is on the way in which extraordinary experiences in unfamiliar places can have a positive and transformative impact on our lives, changing our outlook and exposing us to previously unimagined possibilities.
Susan Cotton was both an ardent traveller and someone who was a big supporter of LJMU. She would have been delighted by applications from those who have previously travelled little and equally from those taking risks to travel to unknown places.
This is a two-stage process. Initial applications will be reviewed by the Cotton Family and those shortlisted will be asked to develop a more detailed proposal. A distinguished panel of judges will then select the five winners from the shortlist and determine the level of support to be offered.
The first stage of the process involves the submission of initial applications by 24th January 2014, the second round application deadline will be Friday 7st March, with the awards judged week commencing 17th March.
First round applications should be submitted by 24th January 2014 via email to: lsaoffice@ljmu.ac.uk.
