Amazing Teaching Awards 2017 - winners!
After 1,602 nominations and one long day of shortlisting the eighth annual Amazing Teaching Awards 2017 has finally arrived!
This year marks the 8th annual LiverpoolSU Amazing Teaching Awards, it was the biggest and most successfulawards to date with over 120 attendees. The awards are held to celebrate the amazing teaching talent at LJMU and encourage a high standard of academic quality.
There were eight different nomination categories this Amazing Teacher, Amazing Personal Tutor, Amazing Academic Supervisor, Amazing Course Team, Amazing Support Staff/Team, Amazing Feedback, Amazing Course Rep (1 per Faculty) and the Liz Allen Award for Amazing Contribution to the Student Experience.
All nominations are submitted by LJMU students, which are then taken to a panel made up of students, LiverpoolSU officers and LJMU staff who judge the quality of nominations received.
On Thursday 4th May, Lecturers, Course Representatives, SU staff and LJMU staff gathered at the Radisson Hotel to celebrate the talented staff at LJMU. Proud speeches from us at the SU and LJMU we’re made regarding the high standards of teaching at our university – it was truly amazing to celebrate the dedicated and passionate work conducted this year by LJMU teachers!
We want to say a huge congratulations to all of those shortlisted (all of which can be foundhere), who have shown an outstanding level of teaching and made a positive impact on students’ lives. A huge congratulations to all those Course Reps nominated this year also, your great work is appreciated! And lastly, we’d like to thank you – the students who submitted 1,602 nominations, without you these awards would not have been possible.
