The JMSU Diabetes Network is a place for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics to come together and share the joys and frustrations of living with diabetes. At university, it can often be difficult to spot other diabetics, and finding people who understand the day-to-day workings of diabetes and the impact it has on our lives can be even harder.

This group will be a safe space for you to let out your frustrations, share your achievements, and catch up on important information about the latest diabetes advancements. The JMSU Diabetes Network is also a space for those students supporting friends, family, or partners with diabetes to gain further understanding and ask any questions you might have. We understand this can be just as difficult for you.

As well as our online Teams chat, we will also be meeting up for in person socials such as coffee mornings, walks, and film nights. If you are interested in joining this group, please email President Jasmine for more information.

Hidden Disability Art Exhibition

This semester I’m continuing my work on hidden disabilities by hosting an art exhibition. I’m looking for art works in any format (it could be fine art, photography, fashion, sculpture, etc.) that fit with the theme of what hidden disability means to you. Work will then be displayed in the John Lennon Art and Design Building Exhibition Space in April.

There will be an opening night event for the exhibition where you can bring family and friends to see your work and then the work will be kept up for people to view at their leisure. For more information please email Jasmine.
