Your VP Academic Quality - Lila Tamea
Lila studied Law at LJMU and worked closely with JMSU during her time as a student on our student staff team and as a Course Rep.
In her position as Vice President Academic Quality she will be focusing on improving teaching, learning and resources at LJMU, ensuring that students are getting value for money out of their degrees. She will also lead on training and working with our large group of Student Reps to collect and collate student feedback from every course.
Lila has pledged to work on:
-Raising awareness of student’s rights, such as their academic rights to appeal, work and housing rights.
-Improving the option module selection process for semesterised modules by working to give you the option to change modules in the beginning of second semester.
-Giving students earlier exam date notification so they have enough notice to schedule time off other commitments to revise
-Restructuring the graduation process to allow students with deferrals / referrals to graduate in the summer by fast-tracking level 6 assessments, giving students the opportunity to graduate in July.
