LGBTQ+ History Month

February in LGBTQ+ History Month to celebrate this we have a series of events for you to join in with! Whether you want to join in with our Student Networks to change, cozy up with book & brew or become an ally - we have something for everyone to enjoy. We also celebrating LGBTQ+ icons via our JMSU social media channels so keep an eye out for them and your LGBTQA+ Part-Time Officer Emma!

2 Feb 4-5pm – Trans and Non-Binary Student Network

The Student Networks will be there to help you connect to other students, develop your communities and empower you to act collectively to make positive change at LJMU. This is a meeting for the Trans and Non-Binary community, chaired by your Trans and Non-Binary Part-Time Officer Martha.

4 Feb 3-4pm – LGBTQA+ Student Network

A great event to provide you information, ideas, and advice about how to support the LGBTQ+ community and be an ally! This workshop is being led with Emma your LGBTQA+ Part-Time Officer and JMSU staff.

 

22 Feb 3-4pm – Craftivism Workshop

Come join in the fun and find more about Craftivism and make some Rainbow Bunting with us! A list of what you will need will be shared prior to the event.

 

2 Mar 2-3.30pm - In conversation with Nancy Kelley, Stonewall CEO

The theme for this year's LGBT+ History Month is “Body, Mind & Spirit” - This virtual event aims to address curiosities around gender-identity, genderfluidity and sexual orientation, whilst sharing best practice for how to support others whom may be struggling with their own identity or those that may be living in isolation at the moment.
