Help & Support

The mental and physical wellbeing of LJMU students remains our top priority right now, and we have a number of avenues for you to seek support during this turbulent time.

If you need urgent help with collecting emergency food or supplies, please get in touch and JMSU can help.  Please email us at to let us know how we can assist you.

The JMSU quarantine support is available to any LJMU students who are currently self-isolating and are in need of urgent assistance.  Once you have contacted us we will assign a volunteer to provide practical assistance which can include collecting groceries and urgent supplies.  The quarantine support is intended to provide you with immediate assistance to ensure your physical and mental wellbeing while you need to self-isolate.  Please get in touch with us if you have any questions regarding this service.

We have expanded our Volunteering Service so that you can access our new Buddy System.

It can be so nerve-wracking moving to a new city or country, and we are here to make sure your university experience is the best it can be.

So if you’re anxious about making friends, fancy a personal tour guide or would just like a bit of extra support – apply for a JMSU Buddy here or find out more about this here.

How do I self-isolate?

With all of the messages that are coming out of Government and local council it can be difficult to know what you should do if you are told to self-isolate.

LJMU has a useful section with information and guidance for students who need to self-isolate.  We suggest that you take a look at these pages for more information.
