You may have already seen so much about the international day event that JMSU held in the Redmonds Social Space, but here is my experience of the event.
The night was filled with so much cultural from all continents around the globe. Everyone was so proud to be showing off their country and where they were from. The best thing about this event was definitely the food, there was so much choice from all over the world! Fernery
Yemen
This stall was full of traditional food chicken kbstah and rice, they even demonstrated some traditional dancing with authentic props
Angola
Had some tractional food to try, Funge, as well as pictures showing the amazing country
Gambia
Gambia had so much choice of food with Jollof and Ebbeh. This was very popular and I unfortunately didn't get it all :(
Kenya
Turkey
There was even more choice over at the Turkish stall with some of my favorite, Turkish Delight on offer. You could even get some coffee here. They also treated us to a traditional Turkish dance where everyone could join in.
Nigeria
Nigeria again had the traditional African rice Jollof along with Eba and Egusi Soup and Pasta but with an African twist.
Thailand
This stall had the traditional chicken and basil sticky rice. This was my favorite bit to eat of the whole evening, it was something I had never had before and I was really surprised I liked it
Brazil
Our own international officer from Brazil stood proud with all her Brazilian home comforts
Somalia
This was an extremely busy stall with so many cultural aspects dressing the table, Lahoo, Sambusa, Halwa, Timir, Bunni, Juice, Ounsie, Traditional garms, pictures and item to churn milk and water.
India
India had some different styles of food from home cooked to street food. The Payasam was a dessert that was really sweet
Norway
Norway had a mix of food that I would have never put together, brown cheese and Pancakes. However, I was really supervised I enjoyed this food so much
Egypt
Egypt were offering Basbousa which translates as 'I'm kissing you'
Pakistan
Pakistan won the the competition on the evening by having the most students vote for their country. They celebrated their culture by having music, dancing, food and henna.
